After a hot start to the 2025-26 NBA season, the Miami Heat have been struggling lately, with a three-game losing streak. Despite some red flags, the players are not overly concerned with their recent results.
The Eastern Conference remains unpredictable, as the Miami Heat are now struggling. While they are still well over .500, this recent stretch has not been good for the Heat, as they have lost three straight and four out of the last five games.
Players across the Heat roster know they are capable of doing more, so they are ready to bounce back. Norman Powell, in particular, is not too concerned about the team’s recent stretch of losses. As he continues to get embedded in the Heat Culture, Powell is beginning to believe more in his team.
Powell believes in his team because they have shown they are a top team when they are healthy and firing. Head coach Erik Spoelstra might be a bit disappointed, but everyone in the Heat fan base knows they can pull off another good stretch of results. Some might point out Tyler Herro’s return messing up the flow, but the Heat can still improve.
The Heat suffered their third consecutive loss, falling 127-111 to the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. It was not the best result for the Heat, as they wanted to bounce back after a close loss to the Orlando Magic on the first leg of the back-to-back.
What would you do if you were in charge of the Miami Heat?

The Heat are ready to keep fighting, which they can do on Tuesday in an NBA Cup Quarter-final game against the Magic. It will not only be a chance to advance in the in-season tournament but it could also be payback for the loss on Friday.
As one of the Heat’s best players, Powell knows they can compete with any team. This stretch is admittedly rough for Miami, but the players are ready for redemption. Powell is playing well, but the rest of the team must step up. Even Bam Adebayo agrees, as the Heat are ready to get payback against Orlando on Tuesday and resume the Heat’s winning ways.
“I don’t think we’re too concerned right now. If you look at the four of five we lost, we could easily be 4-1. Gotta get back to who we are and our identity offensively and defensively, especially in this game, no excuse to lose back-to-back,” Powell said after the loss to Sacramento.
“Just tightening up the little things, how we want to play, the flow, and the play style we want to get back to over the course of the year so far.”
Early in the season, the Heat started a much faster style than before. They had Jaime Jaquez Jr. running the length of the court almost every possession, which has worked out for the Heat this season.
However, they did have to adjust to Herro’s return. He is not the typical player who would run all the time, but he is the team’s best player from the 2024-25 season. Coach Spoelstra has to integrate him into the system, which requires some minor adjustments.

If the Heat want to succeed, they must find ways to integrate Herro into the system properly. Players like Jaquez, Powell, and Davion Mitchell should improve as they get used to playing together.
The ceiling for the Heat’s success is quite high, as they are talented in almost every position. With Spoelstra leading the way, this Heat team will be tough to beat. They are superb on both ends of the floor when they are in full flow, so playing a more cohesive Heat team as the season progresses will be challenging for any other team.
