The Denver Nuggets entered the offseason with some key decisions to make regarding their roster after being eliminated in the second round of the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
While many expected Denver to make minor tweaks to their roster, they have instead gone all-in on retooling their roster around their core of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.
To start their offseason, the Nuggets sent Michael Porter Jr. and a 2023 first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Cameron Johnson.
They then signed both Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway Jr. in free agency and also pulled off a trade with the Sacramento Kings to acquire Jonas Valanciunas in exchange for Dario Saric.
With these moves, the Nuggets have been one of the busiest teams around the NBA this offseason and it is clear that they are trying to upgrade their roster to compete for a championship next season.
While the Nuggets have added many players this summer, they did lose one of their former champions on Wednesday in free agency.
According to multiple reports, Vlatko Cancar is finalizing a two-year deal with Olimpia Milano to return to the EuroLeague.

Of course, Cancar was the 49th overall pick by the Nuggets in the 2017 NBA Draft and he was part of the Nuggets’ championship team in 2023
Cancar played a large role for them that season as he played in a career-high 60 games and averaged 5.0 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
The 28-year-old forward then missed the entirety of the 2023-24 season due to injury and played in only 13 games last season after returning from injury.
While Cancar was never a star player during his five seasons in Denver, he was a solid role player off the bench and also a leader in the locker room.
Now the 6-8 forward will return to the EuroLeague as his time with the Nuggets comes to an end.
