Nuggets Sign Lonnie Walker IV To Camp Deal

August 5: The Nuggets have agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.3MM with free agent wing Lonnie Walker IV, Shams Charania reports for ESPN (via Twitter). It’ll be a minimum-salary contract for Walker, who will earn $3,286,399 while Denver takes on a cap hit of $2,449,421.

Walker is an athletic, 6’4″ shooting guard who will help bolster Denver’s backcourt depth after they lost Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Pickett this summer.

The 27-year-old out of the University of Miami played for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season, his first full year out of the league since being drafted 18th overall by the Spurs in 2018.

Walker averaged 15.2 points per game on .394/.351/.758 shooting splits in EuroLeague play for Maccabi in 2025/26. He shot the ball better in 13 outings in Israel’s domestic league, averaging 15.6 PPG with a .507 FG% and .407 3PT%.

Walker was technically still under contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv and his deal included an NBA opt-out deadline of July 15, but the team was willing to let him go even though Denver’s offer didn’t arrive until August, tweets Marc Stein of The Stein Line. A report last weekend indicated that he and his EuroLeague club were looking to part ways.

Over his last five seasons in the NBA, Walker averaged 11.3 points in 22.4 minutes per night while shooting 35.2% from deep. He most recently played 20 games for the Sixers during the 2024/25 season, averaging a career-high 12.4 points per game.
