On Sunday night, the first round of the NBA Playoffs officially came to a close with the Houston Rockets falling in Game 7 at home to the Golden State Warriors as the No. 2 seed is bounced from the NBA Playoffs.
That officially sets the Round 2 field, which also got started on Sunday as the Indiana Pacers and Cleveland Cavaliers went toe-to-toe in a game that saw Indiana pull off an upset.
The Thunder will begin its second round series against the Denver Nuggets on Monday, as will the Boston Celtics playing host to the New York Knicks. The Warriors advanced to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the rare No. 6 vs. No. 7 second round battle.
The dates of this best-of-7 series between the Thunder and Nuggets were announced by the NBA on Sunday night and it favors Oklahoma City.
The Thunder have eight days off heading into this series, while the Nuggets played on Saturday night in a Game 7 against the LA Clippers before hopping on a bird to jet off to Bricktown.
This second round series will be played in an every-other-day format until Game 7 where the two teams will enjoy a two day gap between Games 6 and 7.
The dates are now set for these contests for the entire seven-game series. Previously, only the first four games of this Round 2 set were revealed. The times of the if necessary games (Game 5-7) will be determined at a later date, once the league knows how many series will overlap on those dates.
