One player completely stood out at the NBA Combine
Reed Sheppard. Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA Draft Combine is taking place this week, and one player has already stood out.

78 players were invited to participate in the combine, which is taking place from May 12-19 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago. Kentucky guard Reed Sheppard is one of the players at the combine, and he has already made his mark.

First off, Sheppard put up a 42-inch vertical leap, which was the best mark to that point in the combine.

Then Sheppard participated in a 3-point shooting drill. By my count, he went 15-of-20 (75%) on his threes.

Sheppard was a standout player for the Wildcats as a freshman last season. He averaged 12.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game while making 52.1% of his threes.

Sheppard’s statistics project well for the next level.

And for now, with the way he played on Monday, Sheppard is showing his game can translate on the court, too.
