The Eastern Conference Semi-Finals game four between the Indiana Pacers and the Cleveland Cavaliers tipped off at 8 PM at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The Cavs won game three to avoid being down 3-0 a hole no team has ever came to win a series down three to zero. The Pacers, on the other hand, will look to win game four and not give home court back to the Cavs. Let’s dive into the game and see which team would come out on top.
The Pacers would start on a five to zero run in the first quarter, Pascal Siakam would steal the ball from Darius Garland and pass the ball to Tyrese Haliburton to get a dunk. The Cavs would keep it close for the first minutes of the quarter but the Pacers would star to pull away.
At the 7:15 mark, Obi Toppin would get a dunk with Myles Turner assisting to make the score 16-7. The game would take a turn with Bennedict Mathurin getting a flagrant foul and being ejected for punching De’Andre Hunter in his chest. It would not matter as the blue and gold had a 38-23 lead into quarter two.
The Pacers would be the team to score first in quarter two with Siakam hitting a 24 foot three with the assist coming from T.J McConnell. The blue and gold would just keep pouring on the offense it seemed liked they couldn’t miss a shot.Obi Toppin would make a layup at the 4:53 mark to make the score 60-32.
The ejection in the first quarter would not matter as the Pacers would put up a record 80 points, doubling up on the Cavs, who had 39. The Cavs would also look as though they would be without Donovan Mitchell, who is ruled out for the second half.
Paskal Siakam would start the scoring in the second half making a layup with and one with a foul on Ty Jerome. At the 9:00 minute mark Aaron Nesmith would hit 24 foot three with the assist coming from Myles Turner making it 90-47.
The Cavs’ Evan Mobley would make a dunk with Darius Garland making the assist to pull the game to 94-60. The blue and gold would turn the scoring back up, with the end of the third quarter being 109-77. The Pacers’ TJ McConnell would hit a three from 24 feet out, with Andrew Nembhard making the assist, making the score 114-79.
The blue and gold had this game in such control both teams would start to clear the bench letting subs play. The teams favorite and crowd favorite James Johnson would hit a 21 foot jump shot just to put the cherry on top for the Pacers. The final score would be 129-109 for the blue and gold take a 3-1 lead heading back to Cleveland.
The Pacers really showed an offensive clinic tonight, even without one of their starters being ejected in the first quarter. The player of the game for me is TJ McConnell with 13 points, eight assists, and two rebounds in only 18 minutes of floor time. The blue and gold as a team had seven players score double figures in the game, and also had 11 players score. This was a total team effort and with a chance to close it out in game 5 I believe the Pacers will show up ready to play. Stay tuned to Total Apex Sports for all NBA Playoff coverage.
