The Indiana Pacers took a 3-1 lead with a 129-103 win over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 of their series. The Bucks will also have to finish the rest of the series without Damian Lillard. The Bucks struggled to get any offense going outside of Giannis Antetokounmpo scoring the rock. The Pacers scored at will on Sunday night and stopped the Bucks from scoring while on defense. Let’s look back at the game to recap all the action.

Pacers First Half

The Pacers as a team would take it to the Bucks for all four quarters. Aaron Nesmith would score the first bucket for the blue and gold on Sunday night with a driving floater in the lane from 7 feet out. Andrew Nembhard got the assist. The first quarter would be a defensive battle with the score only 18-12 at the 5:49 mark with the Pacers leading.

The scoring would pick up with Obi Toppin stepping back and popping a three-pointer to make it 28-18 with 1:12 left in quarter one. Kevin Porter Jr. of the Bucks would keep it interesting making a three with only 3.7 seconds left in the first quarter. The score at the end of one would be 30-24 Pacers.

The second quarter would get started scoring-wise with Pacers Forward Jarace Walker hitting a 26-foot three-pointer with T.J. McConnell on the assist. The Bucks were never really within striking distance in quarter two with the closest score coming at the 9:50 mark when it was 33-28.

The Bucks would never get closer than that before halftime. The score at the half was 63-52. The Bucks had gotten the news they didn’t want to hear. That was Lillard would not return for Game 4 with a lower leg injury. Will the Bucks be able to mount a comeback in the second half? Let’s find out.

Second Half

The blue and gold would turn up at the start of the third quarter with Myles Turner throwing down a running slam dunk at the 11:40 mark of the quarter. The Bucks would always be playing from behind in the third by at least 10 points. Toppin would show why there is no stopping him at the end of the third quarter making a cutting layup with 0.2 left on the clock. The blue and gold would take a 101-84 lead into the final quarter of Game 4.

The last quarter started with McConnell making a jump shot from 9 feet out making it 103-84. The blue and gold would play tough defense on the Bucks not allowing them to break a 100 points until the 4:19 mark in the fourth quarter. The final score would be 129-103 with the blue and gold taking a 3-1 series lead over the Bucks. With Game 5 heading back to Indy, they will look to seal the deal.

Final Thoughts

The player of the game has to be Tyrese Haliburton with 17 points, 15 assists, and 8 rebounds. He took control of the game Sunday night. The whole team played great from top to bottom shooting 60.2% from the field and 46.2% from behind the arc. If they shoot remotely close to this in Game 5, they will be moving on in the NBA Playoffs.
