The New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers will renew their classic 1990s rivalry when they face off in the 2025 Eastern Conference Finals. From 1993 to 2000, the Knicks and Pacers faced off six times in the playoffs, and Reggie Miller took center stage in those matchups.
Miller's heroics in those clashes for the Pacers even earned him the nickname "The Knick Killer." He famously scored eight points in nine seconds in Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference semifinals to steal victory from the jaws of defeat and had many more special performances against the Knicks.
Miller ended up averaging 23.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals per game against the Knicks in the playoffs in his career while shooting 41.2 percent from beyond the arc. His exploits have unsurprisingly led to him not being a very popular figure among New York fans.
One Knicks fan recently took things a bit too far, though. An Indiana artist named Pamela Bliss painted a 60-foot mural of Miller at 127 E. Michigan St. in Indianapolis in October 2018. It was a beautiful tribute to an icon of the area, and it has now been desecrated.
A Knicks fan urinated on the mural and even posted a video online of the act. He urged others to follow suit as well, and Miller ripped the individual in a story on Instagram.
"Lots of idiots in this world," Miller wrote. "Pamela Bliss, just know your work is beloved worldwide."
There is a fine line between harmless banter and disrespect. Miller certainly felt this individual crossed it.
