The Indiana Pacers are coming off a successful season that saw them reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000.

Unfortunately for Indiana, they were unable to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals as they fell in seven games.

Of course, the major storyline exiting the NBA Finals for the Pacers was the health of Tyrese Haliburton, who is set to miss the entire 2025-26 season due to a torn Achilles.

This was a massive blow for the Pacers and one that will have a major impact on them this season, along with them losing Myles Turner in free agency to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Due to Haliburton’s injury and Turner leaving in free agency, the Pacers are not expected to be a threat in the Eastern Conference this season, though they have made some additions to their roster this offseason.

Pacers Sign Monte Morris to Add PG Depth

On Tuesday, Indiana made another addition to their roster as ESPN's Shams Charania reported that they signed former Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns guard Monte Morris to bolster their backcourt depth with Haliburton out for the season.

For Morris, he should be a solid addition to Indiana’s bench and he should see a solid role behind Andrew Nembhard and T.J. McConnell in the point guard rotation.

Last season, the 30-year-old guard averaged 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 42.6% from the field and 36.0% from three over 45 games with the Suns.

Of course, Morris has been a solid backup point guard over his eight seasons in the NBA where he has played for five different teams that include the Nuggets, Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves and Suns.

He will now join the Pacers for the 2025-26 season where he could see a large role of the bench as he will provide Indiana with another solid scorer and playmaker at the guard position.
