Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton focused on health, not timelines

Tyrese Haliburton isn’t rushing anything. Not the recovery. Not the expectations.

The Pacers star is working his way back from a torn Achilles and keeping the focus simple, as he told DJ Siddiqi of Casino.org.

“None that I’ve thought through yet,” Haliburton said when asked about goals for next season. “For me, it’s just about coming back and being the best version of myself.”

That’s where it starts.

Haliburton has been one of the league’s top point guards when healthy. The injury changes the timeline, not the mindset. He’s not putting numbers or milestones on it, just trying to get back to where he was.

“And beyond,” he said.

There’s still the bigger picture.

“Win a championship of course.”

But first comes the work. The daily grind. The process of getting back on the floor and trusting his body again.

“I just really want to get back to full health and get back to attacking every day,” Haliburton said.
