Led by Jalen Brunson, this Knicks side is inarguably the most successful iteration of the franchise since the 1990s.

In the 1990s, the New York Knicks went to the Eastern Conference Finals three times and the NBA Finals twice in 1994 and 1999.
And while this current New York Knicks side has a chance to bring home a championship, perhaps no star will be able to topple the Knicks’ leader in the 1990s, Patrick Ewing!
On December 16th, 1993, Patrick Ewing made history with the New York Knicks, surpassing Walt Frazier to become the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.
Frazier had set the previous record with 14,617 points in orange and blue. And against the Los Angeles Lakers, Ewing surpassed the legendary Knicks guard by scoring 27 points.

That same season, Ewing would lead the Knicks to the NBA Finals, where they came up short against Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets.
Ewing would go on to play for many more years and retired as the Knicks’ all-time leading scorer with 23,665 points.
Patrick Ewing set an immense scoring record with the New York Knicks, one that few players have been able to come close to since his retirement.
Carmelo Anthony came closest in the modern era, sitting 7th in the Knicks’ all-time scoring charts with 10,186 points.
The only active Knicks player currently in the top 25 is Jalen Brunson, who has 6,198 points. And while Brunson could be a Knicks player for life, it’s hard to see him topping Ewing’s points total.
Patrick Ewing is considered by many to be the New York Knicks GOAT. But he was never able to bring a championship back to Madison Square Garden.
Perhaps Brunson and the modern era of the Knicks can make history and win the franchise their first championship in 54 years.
