After watching the 2025-26 season come to an end at the hands of the New York Knicks in a second-round sweep, Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George shared a powerful message with rookie VJ Edgecombe. After 76ers head coach Nick Nurse applauded Joel Embiid’s return against the Knicks after Embiid missed Game 2, George said he spoke to Edgecombe and the other young players on the team, who were making their first playoff appearances.
However, for George, those messages were for his 76ers teammates, and not the public, he said, per The Philly Voice’s Adam Aaronson.
“That’s for them. Everybody’s got their own journey,” George said. “I’m glad that they got the experience of playing playoff basketball.”
The Knicks defeated Paul George and the 76ers 144-114 in Game 4.
