Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has always been compared to former Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan. Fans and experts like to argue about which player is better. They compare notes regarding accomplishments, legacy and fame. When it comes to the greatest of all time debate, James and Jordan are the two most talked about players.

While they’re often compared to one another, they don’t have a relationship to show others. Both superstars have a certain level of respect. However, there haven’t been any reports of them going out to meals and bonding. Jordan’s relationship with James isn’t the same as what he had with the late Kobe Bryant.

NBA insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson said that their relationship could improve now that the Lakers star is in the twilight years of his career. But it could still take a while.

Robinson talked about it during the recent episode of the “Basketball Society” podcast.

“I think Michael and LeBron’s conversations will enhance more when LeBron is towards the end, which could happen sooner rather than later. A lot of people feel like LeBron was chasing Michael’s ghost, which was part of the reason why LeBron never joined the Chicago Bulls,” Robinson said.

No one knows when James will retire. But seeing that he’ll soon be 41, he could call his career quits.

“Comparatively, when you look at LeBron and Michael, there’s just so much being compared and contrasted,” the insider added. “When you’re no longer seen as a threat, LeBron could win two more championships, whether in Los Angeles, whether he signs somewhere else, or whether he gets traded. LeBron’s story is still being written. You don’t want to give your competitor any type of advice to chase me, meaning Michael.”

Speaking of alliances, the Los Angeles Lakers’ top player, Luka Doncic, still maintains his traditional bond with Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban. Other fans thought that their dynamic would change after the blockbuster trade from last season. However, Cuban confirmed that he still has the same relationship with the Slovenian sensation.

“We still DM and most of the time he’ll respond to me and I’ll still give him s**t about stuff,” Cuban said. “Like even when we went and played the Lakers. I was sitting and talking to his dad and I are friends. We’ll always sit and talk and hang out. Give Luka a hard time. So I wouldn’t say we’re close, but we still communicate as much as we ever did.”

Last season, Doncic was traded by the Mavericks to the Lakers. It surprised everyone since many thought he’d spend his entire NBA career in Dallas.
