Philadelphia 76ers Potential Offseason Targets

The Philadelphia 76ers have completed yet another disappointing season. They failed to make improvements at the trade deadline, and it showed in the second round. The same problem every year continues to plague them. They can’t rebound. These are some potential targets who could help resolve that issue.

Saddiq Bey: Trade

Saddiq Bey would give the 76ers something they desperately need. A tough, physical forward who can crash the offensive boards and knock down a three-point shot. Look at it this way: he could come in and likely be a cheaper Kelly Oubre Jr, all while providing Philadelphia with a better fit.

Bey was towards the top of the league in offensive rebound percentage in 2026. He is just a few years off from nearly averaging three offensive boards a game. This added element would give the 76ers’ lineup a much-needed boost in the playoffs. He is also a reliable shooter, knocking down 37% of his threes in 2026.

Current contract: $6.5 million

Jaxson Hayes: FA Signing

Jaxson Hayes replacing Andre Drummond in free agency would be a great step in adding an athletic rebounder to the bench. Nick Nurse has tried to put Adem Bona in this role, but he hasn’t stepped up. Hayes would be one of the best backup centers Joel Embiid has had in his career.

Projected contract: MLE

Precious Achiuwa: FA Signing

Precious Achiuwa continues the trend of adding rebounding to a group that has lacked it for years. He would give the 76ers some positional versatility, able to play him at PF and C. This is a crucial aspect to consider when evaluating Embiid’s health. Having a PF who could slide over to center would expand the roster’s flexibility.

Projected contract: Full MLE

Tari Eason: Sign+Trade

Tari Eason is a dream scenario target for the 76ers. The deal would need to be a sign-and-trade featuring Eason and Philadelphia guard Quentin Grimes. The hope would be that the Houston Rockets would deal from a position of depth to bring in a position of need.

Eason would give Philadelphia a young, athletic, and physical point of attack defender. This will be crucial in the playoffs, allowing them to have a true defender in this role rather than Oubre. Eason at PF would give the Sixers the ability to switch almost everything outside of Embiid, who would be in drop coverage.

Projected contract: 4-years $80-$100 million

End Of My 76ers Rant

The 76ers need to make moves and improve their depth. The only player who could do anything outside the starting five was Grimes, who struggled to find any consistency. It’s pretty ironic when one of their biggest issues is a sparkplug off the bench after trading one away to save money a few months back.
