He finished last year with averages of 7.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest while shooting 38.2% from the field and 25.8% from the three-point range in 73 games.

On Friday, the 76ers announced that they had waived the 23-year-old.

Via Sean Barnard of Fox Sports PHL Gambler: "The writing has been on the wall for Ricky Council IV

His three-point percentage went from 37.5% as a rookie to 25.8% last year and he shot just 38.2% from the field

What is most frustrating to me is in the madness of last year in which he should have thrived he struggled"

The 76ers had a tough 2024-25 season where they dealt with injuries to many key players.

They finished as the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 24-58 record.

Via Evan Sidery of Forbes: "The Sixers announced they waived Ricky Council IV.

The athletic 23-year-old wing averaged 7.3 points per game this season.

Council will have interest on the open market from other teams."
