Mike Budenholzer was given one season with the Phoenix Suns as head coach, but he could not make the NBA playoffs with a roster that had Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal among others.
Phoenix made quick work of Budenholzer, yet it is in need of a coach.
The Suns will more than likely not have Durant next season as potential trade suitors are lined up for him.
Booker is targeted as the franchise player, so the new coach has to fit the attitude of the former Kentucky star.
According to a report from Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype, five names have emerged as top candidates for the job. Jordan Ott and Johnnie Bryant (Cleveland Cavaliers), Sean Sweeney (Dallas Mavericks), Chri Quinn (Miami Heat), and Dave Bliss (Oklahoma City Thunder) have advanced to the second round of interviews. Phoenix needs to find which one will have it more competitive in the Western Conference. After getting embarrassed this season, the Suns refused to have the same fate again.
