The Phoenix Suns are looking to improve their roster ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season. They started by trading away All-Star Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 2025 No. 10 pick and five second-round picks. The next step for the Suns, according to NBA insider John Gambadoro, is for the franchise to trade All-Star guard Bradley Beal.
However, it could be difficult to make a trade package around Beal. The star guard has a no-trade clause, which makes it almost impossible for Phoenix to get him to not exercise the clause in his contract. However, Gambadoro reported that there are at least two teams interested in acquiring the former Washington Wizards star.
This time, NBA insider Michael Scotto reported that the Suns might be looking to shop one of their best 3-point shooters, Grayson Allen.
Scotto reported that the Suns are exploring the trade market for Allen and forward Royce O’Neale.
“Phoenix has also gauged the trade market on swingmen Royce O’Neale and Grayson Allen, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto reported.
“O’Neale averaged 9.1 points and shot 40.6 percent from 3-point range in 75 games for Phoenix last season and is owed a combined $32.63 million over the next three seasons. Allen averaged 10.6 points on 42.6 percent from 3-point range in 64 games, is owed $35 million for the next two seasons, and has a $19.38 million player option for the 2027-28 season.”

Before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, the Suns signed Allen to a $70 million contract extension. The sharpshooter was given a $19.3 million player option in the final year of his contract.
In his first year with the Phoenix Suns, Allen led the league in 3-point efficiency and made 46.1% of his attempts. The former Duke star also had his best season, averaging 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and three assists.
Beal has insisted that he doesn’t want to leave the Phoenix Suns. However, the organization has been expressive about wanting to move on from the star guard. But if the Suns and Beal don’t reach a trade agreement, the team might resort to drastic measures, including sitting him down during the season.
On Monday, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith talked about the situation with the Suns and Beal.
“You got to prioritize getting rid of Bradley Beal,” Smith said. “Him and LeBron James are the only two people in the entire league who have a no-trade clause, and Phoenix wants him gone in the worst way… I’m being told that if they can’t get rid of him, they might sit his a** down or pay him to stay home.”
“They don’t want Bradley Beal on the Phoenix Suns any longer,” he added. “And if you’re Bradley Beal, you’ve got to think about how good that looks for you or how bad that looks for you?”
Until Beal decides to agree to a trade, the situation in Phoenix won’t get better.
