Phoenix Suns Reportedly Sign 17-Year NBA Player
USA TODAY Sports

Thaddeus Young was recently traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Brooklyn Nets.

However, the Nets did not keep Young and waived him following the trade.

After clearing waivers, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the 17-year NBA veteran will now sign a deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Young is currently averaging 5.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 62.1% from the field in 23 games.

Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent F Thaddeus Young is finalizing a deal to join the Phoenix Suns, sources tell ESPN. More veteran, frontline depth for the Suns’ stretch and playoff run. Young has spent the past two-plus seasons with the Toronto Raptors."

The Suns are a veteran-led team, so Young will be an excellent fit in their locker room.

He has extensive experience and has played in 1,162 regular season games for the Philadelphia 76ers, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs (in addition to the Raptors).

The 35-year-old has career averages of 12.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 50.3% from the field and 32.8% from the three-point range.

He's also appeared in 57 NBA playoff games (33 starts).
