TEMPE -- Week one of the Randy Bennett era is officially complete for the Arizona State men's basketball program.
The 25-year head coach of the St. Mary's Gaels departed for Tempe last Monday after a short courtship from ASU AD Graham Rossini.
A quick turnaround has unfolded amid the change, as several key players under Bennett at St. Mary's have decided to enter the transfer portal ahead of the official opening on April 7, creating endless possibilities for building out the roster for his first season at the helm.
Arizona State on SI predicts the percent chance the program has of landing three of the most high-profile players set to make program changes in the weeks ahead.
Murauskas has been considered the best player in the portal since reports surfaced that the All-WCC talent would attempt to find a new home after playing for St. Mary's for the last two seasons.
The Lithuanian forward provides a blend of unexpected athleticism, strength, elite IQ, and polished play finishing to the table - all while also displaying great potential as a three-point shooter.
There's no guarantee that the junior will follow Bennett to Tempe. But there is certainly a defined chance that it comes to fruition.
Predictive Chance Arizona State lands Murauskas: 50%
Lewis is set to enter the transfer portal after Bennett's departure and will be set to hit the open market in lieu of being named an All-WCC First Team selection for his performance this season.
The Oakland native was certainly maximized in his sophomore season in Moraga and would fit Arizona State's timeline to a tee - will he choose continuity with Bennett/a large role that will likely be promised? That remains to be seen, but don't underestimate Bennett's ability to be a major draw over other potential suitors.
Predictive Chance to earn commit from Lewis: 60%
The Santa Clara star intends to enter the portal once it officially opens, bringing Herb Sendek's budding track record of sending guards to the NBA (Jalen Williams, Brandin Podziemski) to a halt for the time being.
While Hammond would fit well in the Bennett operations on paper, there's not a very high chance that he would choose to play in Tempe over other suitors that may very well include Florida, Kentucky, and fellow Big 12 rivals. It would still be wise to express interest, even if the odds aren't great.
Predictive Chance of earning Hammond commitment: 5%
