RJ Barrett buried the go-ahead basket with 18 seconds left, and Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes delivered game-saving blocks in the final moments as the Toronto Raptors edged the Charlotte Hornets 110-108 on Monday night, winning for the eighth time in nine games.
Ingram led Toronto with 27 points, while Barrett and Barnes each added 16. Immanuel Quickley posted a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double as the Raptors extended their winning streak to four. Ingram also electrified the crowd with a highlight-reel poster dunk over Hornets rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner in the fourth quarter.
After Barrett’s tiebreaking drive put Toronto ahead, Ingram preserved the lead by blocking Kalkbrenner from behind on Charlotte’s next possession. The Hornets had one final chance, but Barnes swatted Collin Sexton’s putback at the buzzer to seal the victory. Barnes also set a franchise record with his 10th straight game recording at least one block and one steal, surpassing Vince Carter’s 1999 mark.
Jakob Poeltl scored 13 points and Gradey Dick added 10 for the Raptors.
Kon Knueppel led Charlotte with 24 points, Miles Bridges added 22 and LaMelo Ball had 20 in his return from an ankle impingement. Sexton scored 17 off the bench as Charlotte’s reserves outscored Toronto’s 35–23, while Kalkbrenner grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
But the Hornets’ long-range shooting doomed them—they went just 10 for 40 from deep, their worst three-point percentage of the season—and dropped their sixth game in seven tries. Charlotte is now 1–6 on the road.
