Gradey Dick had the furthest thing from an enjoyable night against the Orlando Magic on Sunday. The Toronto Raptors sharpshooter only tallied two points in the Raptors' close 104-102 victory over the Magic. The reason for his low output came down to not being able to stay on the court.

Dick got hit on multiple fronts, from Cole Anthony and RJ Barrett, raising concerns both about his head and leg. The fallout from the incident resulted in his night being cut short as he went to the locker room.

Dick did not return for the second half against the Magic. Gradey spent the evening being evaluated by trainers.

Darko Rajakovic eventually stepped in to provide an update on Dick moving forward. It was a bit of a mixed bag, with some good news, but also a fair share of bad news.

The good news is Dick avoided concussion protocol. The bad news is there was a laundry list of other ailments for the second-year sniper.

Dick was diagnosed with a knee hyperextension, a sit-bone contusion, as well as a split lip. The latter being the least serious of the bunch.

Rajakovic did not offer a timeline for when Dick was expected to be back in the lineup for Toronto, which could imply an extended period of absence for the breakout Raptor.

Gradey has averaged 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists during the 2024-25 campaign to this point. The second-year pro is shooting 41.0 percent from the field and 35.0 percent from behind the 3-point line.

The Raptors are naturally in a position where there should be no urgency for Dick to return to the lineup. Considering that Toronto holds one of the worst record in the NBA, Gradey should be afforded every opportunity to rest up and work his way back from the injuries at his own pace.
