The Raptors have declined their 2026/27 team option on forward/center Jonathan Mogbo, per Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter link).
Mogbo’s third-year option was worth $2,296,271. The Raptors could technically tender him a qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent, but we haven’t seen any reports indicating that happened. It also wouldn’t make much sense, since his QO would be worth more than the declined option.
Toronto selected Mogbo with the 31st overall pick in the 2024 draft. The former San Francisco standout showed some promise as a rookie in ’24/25, averaging 6.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 0.9 steals in 63 games (20.4 minutes per contest), though he struggled with offensive efficiency, posting a shooting line of .438/.243/.732.
The Raptors weren’t exactly going all-out to win during the ’24/25 campaign, and Mogbo played a minimal role for a much more competitive team in ’25/26, averaging just 1.5 PPG and 1.7 RPG in 40 games (6.2 MPG). Toronto made the playoffs for the first time in four years this past season, losing to Cleveland in a tight seven-game series.
An undersized big man, Mogbo also played 26 games in the G League with the Raptors 905 in ’25/26, averaging 13.5 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 3.2 APG, 1.8 SPG and 1.3 SPG in 27.7 MPG.
Toronto previously exercised its team options on Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jamal Shead, while Sandro Mamukelashvili declined his player option to become a free agent.
