Raptors scheduled to fly into Florida Monday, train in Naples

While the NBA season return at Walt Disney World still is up in the air due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in Florida, it appears one team will be traveling to the state a bit early.

According to Yahoo's Keith Smith, the Toronto Raptors are scheduled to fly into Florida on Monday and begin training at Florida Gulf Coast University in Naples.

Smith didn't add any more specific details, but it's probably okay to assume that the team will be under strict quarantine and social distancing guidelines while preparing for the remainder of the season.

Despite concerns from players surrounding the pros and cons of resuming the NBA season next month at Walt Disney World, the league still is carrying out its plans of returning to the court on July 30.

The Raptors currently sit second in the Eastern Conference with a 46-18 record and have a chance at repeating as NBA champions. However, the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks seem to be destined for a Finals matchup, so it's really no surprise Toronto is in Florida training early ahead of the season resume. They'll need to be on top of their game if they have hopes of defeating either of those teams.
