Recent Boston Celtics Player Signs With Team In Germany
USA TODAY Sports

Carsen Edwards had an incredible three-year career playing for the Purdue Boilermakers.

Edwards led them to the NCAA Tournament in all three seasons and they made the Elite 8 in 2019.

Following his junior season, he was selected with the 33rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

He spent three seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, but this past year the talented point guard played for Fenerbahçe Beko and averaged 10.0 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest while shooting 41.1% from the field and 34.3% from the three-point range in 49 games.

On Friday, the 25-year-old officially signed with FC Bayern Basketball (h/t Alberto De Roa of HoopsHype).

Via fcbayern.com: "The backcourt of next season's FC Bayern Basketball squad is complete: As their third addition, the cup winner has now signed Carsen Edwards for the upcoming season."

Edwards played the first two seasons of his pro career for the Celtics and averaged 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per contest while shooting 37.2% from the field and 30.2% from the three-point range in 68 regular season games.

He also appeared in three NBA playoff games and was part of the team that made the 2020 Eastern Conference Finals.

Following the Celtics, Edward played four games for the Pistons during the 2022 season and averaged 5.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per contest while shooting 30.0% from the field and 25.0% from the three-point range.

At such a young age, it's still possible that Edwards could return to the NBA.
