Report: Bradley Beal unwilling to waive no-trade clause for Bulls trade

PHOENIX — Phoenix Suns star guard Bradley Beal is reportedly unwilling to waive his no-trade clause if he were to be dealt to the Chicago Bulls, according to Fred Katz of The Athletic.

This is another wrinkle in the Beal-Suns saga where despite Phoenix’s reported desire to trade the three-time All-Star for disgruntled Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler, any move the Suns make hinges on Beal waiving his no-trade clause. He is one of two NBA players with a no-trade clause (LeBron James).

It has been reported that Beal is willing to waive his clause for specific destinations, but Chicago is a destination that he is now unwilling to be moved to.

Chicago was, briefly, mentioned as team that could jump in and facilitate a multi-team trade where Phoenix gets Butler and a third team gets Beal as Miami reportedly has no interest in taking on Beal’s contract. The deal would have most likely included Bulls star guard Zach LaVine, who is having a resurgent season.

Phoenix’s quest to find a team to take Beal continues.
