According to NBA insider Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Chicago Bulls are not pursuing Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis.

The Celtics are expected to trade Porzingis this offseason.

“The Bulls are not currently chasing Porzingis, league sources say, although some rival teams have been openly wondering if they might,” Fischer wrote. “Chicago is known, at the very least, to be evaluating the overall state of its center rotation with Nikola Vucevic, after a strong season, having been pursued as a trade target since last February’s in-season trade deadline and now, at 34, entering the final season of his contract at $21.5 million.”

Porzingis averaged 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the 2024-25 regular season and 7.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists in the 2025 playoffs for the Celtics.

The All-Star dealt with an illness and he had trouble breathing in the postseason.

After winning the championship last season, Boston lost to the New York Knicks in the second round of this year’s playoffs in six games.

The Celtics already made one big trade, sending Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for Anfernee Simons and draft picks.

The 29-year-old Porzingis has career averages of 19.6 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists with the Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards and Celtics. He’ll make $30.7 million next season in the final year of his contract.

The Bulls haven’t made the playoffs since 2022. They have made the conference finals once since Michael Jordan retired in 1998.
