Report Reveals That Bradley Beal Received a Ton of Interest Before Joining the Clippers

It seems the Los Angeles Clippers were far from the only team interested in acquiring Bradley Beal this offseason.

The former All-Star became one of the league's more interesting for teams looking to improve as it became clear that his time in Phoenix was coming to an end.

While he was expected to get some interest from teams looking to compete next season, it wasn't clear just how big his market was going to be.

It turns out that he actually drew the attention of more than half of the NBA.

According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, sources said that more than 20 teams around the league showed interest in the shooting guard after the Suns gave him the green light to start talking to other teams about potentially joining them after the buyout.

While Beal's time in Phoenix was a major disappointment, it's clear why just about any team with playoff hopes would have had an eye on Beal.

He can still score the basketball effectively. His scoring average was down again last season, but he shot the ball well. His 17 points per game came while shooting 38.6% from and 49.7% from the floor.

For the Clippers, that makes him a great replacement for Norman Powell.

Powell averaged 21.8 points per game last season while shooting 41.8% from three and 48.4% from the floor.

Beal should be able to pick up most of the slack on the missing scoring and the Clippers were able to get him without giving anything up.

With Beal now on the team this is a better Clippers squad than the one that won 50 games last season and it turns out they had to beat out a lot of competition to get him.
