Report: Zach LaVine Doesn’t Want Bulls To Trade Him

According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, Zach LaVine doesn’t want the Chicago Bulls to trade him. 

LaVine has been in trade rumors for over two years now. 

“Sources tell The Stein Line that LaVine, who has put himself in contention for a third career All-Star selection with his strong play for the Bulls thus far this season, would prefer to remain in Chicago beyond the Feb. 6 deadline,” Fischer wrote. “LaVine’s name has featured in leaguewide trade chatter virtually all season after the Bulls’ monthslong quest to trade him in 2023-24. Denver emerged as a possible trade suitor for LaVine in December and, more recently, he has been frequently lumped into chatter as a potential co-star in multi-team trade constructions that would facilitate Jimmy Butler’s exit from the Miami Heat.”

LaVine is averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 51.3% from the field, 45.1% from beyond the arc and 81.2% from the free-throw line. 

A two-time All-Star, LaVine is making $43 million this season. He’ll make $45.9 million in 2025-26 and has a player option worth $48.9 million in 2026-27. 

The Bulls are 19-26. They are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings. 

A two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion, LaVine has career averages of 20.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.3 blocks with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls. Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group represents him. 

“People are supposed to talk about you, have opinions about you,” LaVine said on January 11 about being in NBA trade rumors. “If you’re not at that level, they wouldn’t talk about you at all. I’ve done a better job this year of just canceling out a lot of the noise.”

LaVine has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns in trade rumors. The guard doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract.
