Ric Flair Blasts ESPN Analyst Who Had Called LeBron James An Old Man

LeBron James dazzled on the court on Sunday, recording 28 points, 11 rebounds, 17 assists, 5 steals, and 1 block in a 124-108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Following James' incredible triple-double, wrestling icon Ric Flair took to X to blast ESPN's Alan Hahn, who called the Los Angeles Lakers superstar an old man last year.

"I’m Sorry To Report To You Alan Hahn That LeBron Recorded Another Triple Double A Year After You Called Him An Old Man. You Stupid SOB. It’s So Embarrassing To Have You Report About Sports. When I See You On Get Up Or First Take, I Turn The TV Off. LeBron James, Triple Double. The Lakers March On! WOOOOO!"

Safe to say Flair wasn't pulling any punches. This actually isn't the first time that he has gone off on the analyst. Last year, Flair had picked LeBron over Michael Jordan and blasted Hahn for calling him an old man. The 75-year-old claimed he wanted to jump through the TV and strangle Hahn for his comment. 

Well, James is an old man in basketball terms as he is now 39 years old, but he sure isn't playing like one. LeBron has finished this 2023-24 season with averages of 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. The 20-time All-Star has also shot 54.0% from the field and 41.0% from beyond the arc. It has been a remarkable campaign, and I expect more of the same from LeBron in the playoffs.

Alan Hahn Responded To Ric Flair

As you might expect, Hahn was going to have something to say about Flair's comments. He fired back at him on Get Up in brutal fashion.

"First of all, I was embarrassed when I saw this, for him," Hahn said. "... I don't know wrestling that well, I called my friend Peter Rosenberg and I just said, 'Tell me what's going on with Ric Flair?' And he said, 'Look this guy was so famous, so popular that they said that you could have him and a broom in a match and people wanna watch it.' If this is where he's in his career, I put my money on the broom.

"Speaking of brooms, when we had this take, the Lakers were getting swept by the Denver Nuggets, and oh by the way, LeBron James talks about being old," Hahn stated. "No one talks about being old more than LeBron James. So, give me a break with it."
