The friction between LeBron James and Drake has hit the headlines again following the Canadian singer’s latest album releases. Drake seemingly dissed the Lakers star in his newly released “Iceman” album, and James’ agent, Rich Paul, finally addressed the conflict.
On Friday, Drake released three albums, Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honor simultaneously. The Iceman trilogy was expected to go deep into Drake’s heart and sense of betrayal from his close friends, including the Lakers star. Without getting into their conflict, Paul mentioned that only time would heal things between the two former friends.
“At the end of the day, I think it’s important that adults really reconcile down the road and stay out of that stuff…. I don’t get involved in that, but for me, it’s just about allowing time to pass,” Paul said via Game Over.
“And hopefully they can reconcile their differences…in any situation it’s important to remove the middleman. I think over time you need the two people to have a conversation if it’s able to get there.”

In the song “Make Them Remember,” Drake took a shot at the Lakers star for switching teams. It seemingly referred to James attending Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Los Angeles in 2024.
James’ attendance at Lamar’s concert happened at the height of the Lamar-Drake friction. Many perceived it as the Lakers’ star taking Lamar’s side.
“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” Drake rapped.
In another line, he rapped, “he’s not, it’s in my DNA,” seemingly referencing Kendrick Lamar’s song.
“Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 and me,” followed by “I’m a real n****, and he’s not, it’s in my DNA.”
It has been almost two years since LeBron attended Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” concert.
Since then, the distance between the Lakers star and the Canadian singer has only increased. Over time, it became more apparent in the open.
However, even after being disrespected by his former friend on multiple occasions, LeBron still has love for his former friend.
“Always wish him the best,” James told Complex’s Speedy Mormon in Sep. 2025. “Obviously [we’re in] different places right now, currently. He’s doing his thing, I’m doing mine, but it’s always love for sure.”
James and Drake have been friends since 2007. Since then, they supported each other in their careers before things took a turn in the wake of the conflict.
Aside from going after James in his songs since the conflict started, the Canadian rapper covered James’ tattoo with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s OKC Thunder jersey.
