Minnesota Timberwolves prospect Rob Dillingham is a fan of the newest kid on the block.
Rob Dillingham was the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ draft pick in 2024, and now he is feeling more settled as he enters his second season.
Dillingham is part of the Timberwolves’ Summer League squad, aiming to show what he is capable of after a year learning within the system.
Speaking to reporters, Dillingham said he feels a lot more settled than he did a year ago. Asked about what has changed, he responded: “Everything. Just being comfortable. You spinning when you are a rookie. It’s way easier.”
The Minnesota Timberwolves used their pick in the 2025 NBA Draft to select French prospect Joan Beringer.
Timberwolves president Tim Connelly is on record talking up Beringer’s potential, and new teammate Dillingham likes what he has seen.
Dillingham was quizzed over who had stood out for him in Summer League practice, and picked out Beringer.
He said: “The rookie. Joan’s solid. Super solid, not going to lie. I like him.”
The Timberwolves begin their Summer League campaign on July 10, taking on the New Orleans Pelicans.
During the season Mike Conley expressed his faith in Rob Dillingham and expressed confidence that he will continue to improve.
Dillingham spoke about how he has been leaning on Conley as a mentor, from everything to just watching him, to asking for advice.
He said: “Even though I wasn’t playing I watched him do everything. How he set up from the beginning of the game. How he set players up, how he get his shots.
“It meant a lot for sure, just being able to see Mike do that, even though we didn’t get to win it all.
“I hit him up for anything, if I’m thinking about something, he’s the person I can relate to. He tells me real, how it’s supposed to be.”
An important second season awaits for Dillingham, and it all starts with Summer League.
