Robert Sarver's wife sent messages to ex-Suns employees, accused them of lying?

Longtime Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver is facing allegations of racism, misogyny, sexism and harassment detailed in a lengthy report released by ESPN last week that could result in his banishment from the franchise and the NBA.

ESPN's Baxter Holmes has confirmed that Penny Sarver, Robert's wife, sent messages to three former Suns employees regarding those accusations.

"Over the weekend, I decided on my own to reach out to a few people to try to set the record straight and to share how disappointed and hurt I am by the lies that are circulating about my husband and the Suns organization," Penny Sarver told ESPN. "I shared the betrayal that I felt and I touched on some of the pain that we are going through as a family.

"Any suggestion that I tried to 'intimidate' anyone is as silly as it is wrong and outrageous."

According to Holmes, two messages came from Instagram, while a third was a text from a number linked with Penny Sarver.

Former Suns head coach Earl Watson, who made damning allegations against Robert Sarver in the original ESPN piece, is mentioned in at least one of the messages shared by the Worldwide Leader.

"Please put your hatred aside and realize the hurt you are causing by spreading lies and fabrications," Penny Sarver reportedly messaged. "Is your time in the spotlight that important? If something happens to one of my children, I will hold you and Earl Watson personally responsible. Think about your own child for a second and imagine the tables turned."

At least one of the former employees considered the message from Penny Sarver a "threat."

Robert Sarver has vehemently denied any wrongdoing and said last week:

"At this point, I would entirely welcome an impartial NBA investigation which may prove our only outlet for clearing my name and the reputation of an organization of which I’m so very proud."
