The Phoenix Suns have finally made a deal and the Houston Rockets are Kevin Durant‘s next destination.

Per Shams Charania of ESPN, the Suns are sending Durant to the Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and five second-round picks.

“The deal places Durant on the No. 2-seeded Rockets and elevates the team’s positioning for title contention in the West,” Charania wrote. “The Suns land a 23-year-old scorer for a high-powered backcourt with Devin Booker, a tough 3-and-D player and now have 3 firsts and 8 seconds to use in trades.”

Houston may have finished with the No. 2 seed in the West, but it lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Warriors. Some have cited the Rockets’ lack of experience for that outcome. Durant, who will be 37 years old at the start of next season, will change that. He remains one of the league’s most lethal scorers.

Before this news, Durant had been linked to the Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and a few others. Houston was said to be on his “wish list” of possible destinations.

“We reported Friday night that the Suns were quietly confident they could find a Kevin Durant deal before the NBA Draft and now have the No. 10 pick,” wrote Marc Stein of The Stein Line. “Houston was adamant since its Round 1 exit that it would only trade for KD if it surrendered only Jalen Green from its young core.”
