In a come-from-behind win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, rookie Isaiah Collier starred.

On 50% shooting, the rookie added 20 points, 11 assists to just one turnover, six rebounds and one steal, consistently helping Utah stay in the game and then some. His 0-for-5 shooting was the only mark on his night, and even then it couldn’t keep him down completely.

His performance has capped a nice stretch for the newbie, who’s quickly looking like the team’s guard of the future.

In his last 12 games, 10 of which were starts, Collier has added 13.0 points, 8.3 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting a much-improved 47% overall and 28% from beyond the arc.

The run was kickstarted by 23 points, seven rebounds and seven assists on efficient shooting against Brooklyn in mid-January. And it seems its boosted his confidence for the long haul. He’s scored in double digit figures in all but three of games since then, and has averaged a much-better assist-to-turnover ratio, too.

Collier was drafted at No. 29 in the 2024 NBA Draft, and was thought of to be more of a flier, despite his pedigree as a point guard. He saw an exceptionally rough stretch to begin his career, but has since begun to trend upwards for the Jazz.

If he can continue his upwards trajectory, he should be a nice piece on the team for the foreseeable future.
