The Minnesota Timberwolves suffered an overtime loss to the lowly Sacramento Kings on Monday night.
The Sacramento Kings have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA and Domantas Sabonis has a partial tear of the meniscus in his left knee and is expected to be out at least a month.
The Kings have been the topic of many trade rumors, but they were able to block out the noise and get an impressive win in this one.
DeMar DeRozan led the team with 33 points and another Kings star shined in the victory.
Keegan Murray came up big for the Kings in this win. He scored 26 points to go along with 14 rebounds.
Murray was one of three Kings players that scored in double figures.
A new report revealed that the Kings are willing to trade almost anyone on the roster except Murray and Nique Clifford.
Rudy Gobert talked about the Kings’ young star.
“He [Keegan Murray] was great. Everyone knows he can shoot, but I thought he really impacted the game in different areas.
“He got some key offensive rebounds. He got a couple stops too.
“He traveled when he hit that moon on me, but it was still a good move.
“He definitely takes them to a different level. He makes a lot of winning plays, at least tonight.”
The Kings are 5-13 and sit in 13th place in the Western Conference.
It will be tough for them to make up ground and put themselves in a position to contend this season.
Therefore, all arrows point to the Kings offloading a bunch of their veteran players to signal a rebuild.
Sabonis has been in a lot of trade chatter along with DeRozan and Zach LaVine, which makes sense considering the Kings can get some future assets to build around Murray.
