As the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery took place this week, some teams left with disappointment while others were left surprised by the outcome.
The Dallas Mavericks were able to come out with the No. 1 overall pick, the San Antonio Spurs followed them with No. 2, and the Philadelphia 76ers were able to come out with pick No. 3.
That left several teams with worse records in 2024 with later selections, including the Charlotte Hornets at No. 4, Utah Jazz at No. 5, Washington Wizards at No. 6, and the New Orleans Pelicans Pelicans at No. 7.
While this is what the draft order looks like right now, there's a chance that one or more of these teams take calls and trade out of their lottery positions.
One team in particular has shown its interest in trading out of its top pick and possibly getting some future draft compensation or even players in return.
The Athletic's Sam Vecenie reported that the 76ers are 'open to trade offers for the No. 3 overall pick.'

Philadelphia went into the lottery with a 10.5% chance of landing the No. 1 pick. Their name was pulled for the third pick and it seems that higher-ups within the organization aren't very satisfied with their position.
With a rumor that comes out like this, there can be players that are on the trade block.
Philadelphia finished with a disappointing 24-58 record after an injury-riddled season that had some of their top players missing significant time.
Franchise stars Joel Embiid (65 games missed), Paul George (41 games missed), and Tyrese Maxey (30 games missed) all had disappointing ends to their seasons – with news like this, any of them have a chance of getting moved.
Although nothing has been confirmed, the 2025 NBA Draft order could look a lot different before it begins in late June.
