Former NBA MVP Russell Westbrook is already proving his doubters wrong this season.

This offseason, the Denver Nuggets and Russell Westbrook decided to part ways following a single season together.

After the announcement, Westbrook became a free agent and struggled to find a new team. Why? Well, most believed that Westbrook was finished and he’s no longer an NBA-caliber player.

However, the Sacramento Kings showed trust in Westbrook and signed him to a one-year deal for the 2025-26 season.

Russell Westbrook and Nikola Jokic are the only players to achieve a unique stat line this season

Before the start of the season, most expected Brodie to fail with the Kings. But the former NBA MVP has proved his critics wrong.

Despite playing limited minutes, Westbrook recently surpassed Paul Pierce to reach the No. 18 spot on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

However, Russ’ true talent can be grasped with a unique stat that he currently shares with Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic.

To be precise, Westbrook and Jokic are currently the only two NBA players who have recorded at least 200 points, 90 rebounds, 90 assists, and 20 three-pointers this season.

Jokic is viewed as an MVP candidate, but Westbrook has been labeled finished and urged to retire. It’s obvious that Brodie still has so much basketball left in him.

While Westbrook and Jokic have both reached these numbers, it’s obvious that one player is far better than the other.

After all, Jokic is currently averaging 29.2 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 11.1 assists per game for the Nuggets.

On the other hand, Westbrook is averaging 14.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game for the Kings. The good news for Russ fans is his improved three-point shooting.

For years, Westbrook has been called out over his poor shooting from deep, but this season he is shooting an immaculate 40.5% from the three-point line.
