Russell Westbrook's Honest Statement on Anthony Edwards
© Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was dominant against the LA Clippers on Sunday night, finishing with 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win. Asked about Edwards after the game, Clippers guard Russell Westbrook said, "I see him getting better. One thing about this league is the challenge is getting better each and every year. This year he so far has made that jump, leading this team to number one in the West. He's doing a great job of that."

The play of Edwards this season is a big reason why the Timberwolves sit atop the Western Conference, and that's something Westbrook recognizes. The star guard was able to come up big against a red hot Clippers team on Sunday night, leading Minnesota to their 28th win of the season.

Edwards was complimentary of the Clippers after the game, telling reporters he loves the challenge of defending all of their stars.

"That’s why I look forward to playing [the Clippers] all the time," Edwards said, via Sheldon Wohlman of Utility Sports. "Regardless of if you’re in front of Kawhi, PG or James, they’re going to try to iso you. You gotta take pride in that challenge and try to stand them up. Kawhi gave me a tough bucket tonight, but other than that I think I did a pretty good job."

The respect is mutual, as players on the Clippers' side recognize the talent and impact that Edwards has.
