Sacramento Kings Interested in Adding $134 Million NBA Champion

The Sacramento Kings, assuming that they plan on keeping their core intact this summer and trying to compete with DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine, and Domantas Sabonis, it's clear that they need a point guard.

After trading away Tyrese Haliburton and Domantas Sabonis in recent seasons, the Kings would likely prefer to undo one of those deals, although they do have the means to trade for a point guard.

With some draft capital, Keegan Murray, and Jonas Valančiūnas as trade chips, the Kings could be overlooked players this offseason, and they seem to have identified their trade target.

"Jrue Holiday is a veteran player the Sacramento Kings have interest in, sources said," reported ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel. "Whether or not Holiday is made available in trade talks by Boston is the ultimate question. New GM Scott Perry has made it clear his team needs a true point guard, and he was always a fan of Holiday when he worked with the New York Knicks."

This summer will not be the first time that Perry has gone after Holiday.

"Perry wanted to explore the possibility of adding Holiday in New York before he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2020," Siegle finished. "Sacramento enters the offseason with decisions needing to be made about DeMar DeRozan's immediate future."

As the Boston Celtics try and cut salary, Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis have been named the two most likely players to be traded. Holiday fills a position of need, would shore up the defense, and fits the Kings' current timeline. It's just a matter of if they can outbid any other suitors.
