Scottie Barnes has hit a new milestone.

The Toronto Raptors star forward reached 4,000 career points against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He officially hit that mark early in the third quarter. He drove inside the paint, hit an up-fake, then swept around Evan Mobley and finished with the hook:

Barnes reaches the 4,000 point club after 236 games played with Toronto. He is the 13th player to reach it in Raptors’ history, joining a list that features Demar Derozan, Chris Bosh, Pascal Siakam, and Kyle Lowry.

Barnes also ties Bosh as the 2nd fastest player in Raptors’ history to reach the milestone. They both did it in 236 games. While, Vince Carter is the fastest player, reaching it in 167 games per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.

Barnes is averaging 20.4 points per game in 25 games this season. Along with his scoring, he has shown other parts to his game like his playmaking and defensive skills. Offensively, he has been able to get inside and work the mid-range. His three-point shooting has dipped compared to last season, but he still has that in his arsenal.

The Raptors selected Barnes no. 4 overall in the 2021 NBA Draft. He immediately made his mark with the team winning the 2021-22 Rookie of the Year. The Raptors decided this past season that they were going to fully invest and commit to Barnes as the face of the franchise. They have built  the team around him and signed him to a 5-year contract extension worth upwards of $270 million dollars this past summer.

Darko Rajakovic has high expectations for Scottie Barnes

Scottie Barnes has the full support of the franchise, including head coach Darko Rajakovic.
