SGA joins elite MVP list

It seems that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander keeps joining an elite list of players or setting records with his play this postseason. He’s joined yet another impressive list for MVPs and their elite scoring in the playoffs, as well as the regular season.

Up to this point in the postseason, and including the regular season, SGA has scored over 3,000 points. As the MVP this year, he joined a list of three other MVPs to achieve this scoring feat.

MVPs to score 3,000+ points in a season (including playoffs) since the merger:

— KD
— Shaq
— MJ
— SGA

This stat featured Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kevin Durant as the other three players to win MVP and score over 3,000 points. It should be noted that this stat list is only counting since the NBA/ABA merger.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander truly is on a remarkable run this entire season. He hopes it will end with an NBA championship.
