Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had one of the greatest campaigns of the modern NBA era. He won the regular-season MVP, scoring title, and the Finals MVP en route to leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a championship.

It was a campaign of dreams for the Thunder, as they were the best team throughout the year, and that continued in the NBA Playoffs. Gilgeous-Alexander was the catalyst for everything, as he cemented himself as arguably the best player in the league.

The 2025 offseason has been a summer of success for Gilgeous-Alexander. He has been celebrating with the team, but he has also returned home to Canada to revel in his success with his hometown fans.

Despite all of his success during the 2024-25 season, he still cannot believe what happened in that magical campaign. The 2025-26 season is coming up, but it feels like Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder are still on cloud nine after such a massive campaign.

Gilgeous-Alexander Had A Monumental List Of Accomplishments In The 2025-26 Season

On an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host read out Gilgeous-Alexander's achievements in the 2025-26 season alone. It was one of the most successful campaigns in modern NBA history, which has led to him getting his flowers.

He won a deserved MVP award, which is only contested by people who thought Nikola Jokic deserved his fourth MVP. Considering that people believe Jokic is the best player in the league, Gilgeous-Alexander going toe-to-toe with him shows the Thunder star's quality.

"What a list. It is crazy that when in the moment, you're competing and playing. You don't realize what you're doing. It's crazy and an amazing feeling. But it goes to show that when you work hard, put your head down, and take it one step at a time, you can go anywhere you want to go." Gilgeous-Alexander said on The Tonight Show.

It is an impressive run that Gilgeous-Alexander is on, and he will want to continue in the 2025-26 season. The Thunder are the favorites to win the title again, and their star player is entering his physical prime.

The Thunder Will Want To Maintain Their Success

After a couple of seasons of success, the Thunder have become the most dangerous team in the league. They have the depth to maintain their success, as they are the favorites again to win the championship.

Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are their projected team that will be their primary rival. That is a bit poetic, given the past two seasons of their two superstars competing for the MVP award.

As long as Gilgeous-Alexander is healthy and ready to be the league's best point guard, the Thunder will be the toughest team to beat. Coach Mark Daigneault is in the right spot with this team, and they are ready to become a dynasty.
