The 2025 NBA Finals rematch did not disappoint. The two teams battled hard all night long and for the second consecutive game, the Oklahoma City Thunder played a game that went into double overtime.

The Pacers were without Tyrese Haliburton, thanks to his unfortunate Achilles injury he suffered in last year’s Finals. But you wouldn’t have known it.

Indiana kept battling, refusing to go away. In Haliburton’s absence, Bennedict Mathurin came up big, scoring 36 points. On this night, however, the game belonged to the reigning MVP.

SGA dropped a career-high 55 points on 15-31 shooting, including going 23-26 from the free throw line. This performance pushed SGA past Kevin Durant on OKC’s all-time list of most 50-point games with five. He tied with Russell Westbrook for the most.

The Thunder defeated the Pacers 141–135 in double overtime, and OKC fans couldn’t be more ecstatic.

After the first two games of the season, SGA is looking like the clear MVP favorite. More importantly, the defending champions are 2-0.
