Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Thunder roll past Wizards
Alonzo Adams-USA TODAY Sports

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 30 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Washington Wizards 147-106 on Friday in Oklahoma City.

The Thunder set a season high for points scored.

For the second consecutive night, the Thunder finished a quarter strong to take control.

On Thursday night, it was a surge at the end of the third that lifted Oklahoma City to a win over the Clippers.

On Friday, the Thunder went on a 21-9 run over the last five-plus minutes of the second quarter to stretch Oklahoma City's lead to 23 at the break.

Gordon Hayward scored his first points since being acquired by the Thunder before the trade deadline during the second quarter, when Oklahoma City outscored Washington 39-29.

Rookie Chet Holmgren scored 14 points in the second quarter -- seven during the final three minutes.

Holmgren started the quarter by blocking Marvin Bagley III's shot at the rim, grabbing the rebound and finishing the play with a floater.

Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished with nine assists and seven rebounds, had 14 points and five assists in the first quarter to help Oklahoma City jump out to a 41-28 lead.

The Wizards, who shot 39.4 percent from the floor, lost their 10th game in a row.

Jordan Poole, coming off the bench for the second consecutive game, led the Wizards with 21 points. In two games off the bench, Poole is just 11-of-36 from the floor. He was 7-of-19 in the loss Friday.

Holmgren finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds to help Oklahoma City win its fourth in a row.

The Thunder had seven players score at least 11 points.
