The LA Clippers are in Oklahoma City on Thursday night to face the Thunder in a battle of two Western Conference contenders. Just a half game separates the Clippers and Thunder in the standings, with OKC currently holding down the second seed, and LA sitting right behind them in third.
Both teams have released their injury reports for this game, and they are entirely clean, meaning MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is available to play. A former Clipper, Gilgeous-Alexander has performed very well against his former team, averaging 24.1 PPG against them for his career, and 28.0 PPG against them the last two seasons.
This is a huge game for both teams, as the season series is currently tied 1-1. A tiebreaker scenario is certainly in play when looking at the current standings, which makes the season series very important.
The Clippers won their last matchup against OKC, which came in LA, but dropped their first matchup of the season vs. the Thunder in OKC. Looking to regain control of the season series, the Clippers will have to find a way to keep Gilgeous-Alexander and the rest of the Thunder under control.
This should be a fun matchup to begin the post-All-Star break schedule. Both the Clippers and Thunder are in need of a victory, and will tip-off at 5:00 PM PST in Oklahoma City.
