Shams Charania Reveals Potential LeBron James Retirement Timeline

Only one player in the history of the NBA has beaten Father Time, which is claimed to be undefeated. LeBron James is currently transforming his game for the Los Angeles Lakers in year 22 as he remains one of the top players in the league.

Since being drafted as the "chosen one" in 2003, James has had the NBA in a chokehold. He's won four titles, been to many, many NBA Finals and is a multi-time MVP.

Regarded as one of, if not the, best players in the NBA, many are closely following James' career in the league, especially as he's entering uncharted territory. His Lakers could be well-positioned for a playoff run, though the end of his career certainly could come in the near future.

There's no real answer as to when James will hang it up. He currently shares a team with his eldest son, Bronny, and his second-eldest son, Bryce, is only a few years from being eligible to enter the league.

Having already made history by playing on the hardwood at the same time as his son, James has accomplished anything any player in the league could have ever hoped for.

ESPN's NBA insider Shams Charania recently took a peak behind the curtain at a potential retirement from James, though it's incredibly difficult to predict.

“My sense is next season could potentially be his last season in the NBA," Charania said on First Take . "…Maybe Bryce James keeps him around an extra year or two.”

The end of James' career in the NBA will be quite momentous. The name LeBron has been simultaneous with the NBA for over two decades.

Whether or not the legend will retire or wait until his next son hits the floor with him in the league will certainly be something all basketball fans will have their eyes on.
