In a recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, ESPN Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania dropped a bombshell about Al Horford’s market value as he approaches free agency.

Charania revealed that there is "an uncertainty around Boston right now with Jayson Tatum potentially missing all of next season," which has unexpectedly boosted Horford’s appeal.

Despite his age, Horford, who will turn 40 next season, is reportedly attracting significant interest from teams outside of Boston.

Charania noted that Horford has "a pretty robust free agent market" outside of the Celtics, highlighting his enduring value.

This revelation comes as a surprise given Horford’s recent performance and the perception that his best days might be behind him.

However, his experience, leadership, and consistent play have evidently caught the eye of multiple teams.

The uncertainty surrounding the Celtics, combined with Horford’s ability to still contribute effectively, has created a competitive landscape for his services.

Teams are reportedly preparing to make substantial offers, recognizing his potential to stabilize and mentor younger rosters.

This development underscores Horford’s surprising resilience and marketability, proving that age is just a number in the NBA when it comes to veterans with his caliber of skill and leadership.

As free agency looms, Horford’s high value could lead to a significant contract, reshaping his career and impacting the Celtics’ roster decisions.

This twist in the narrative adds an intriguing layer to the upcoming offseason, with all eyes on where Horford will land next.
