On the latest episode of "The Big Podcast," NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal savagely destroyed Los Angeles Clippers forward Ben Simmons.
O’Neal said Simmons should be "arrested" for getting the money he received from the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Sixers signed Simmons to a five-year, $177 million contract in 2019.
"Ben Simmons needs to be (expletive) arrested," O'Neal said. "$250 for that (expletive)? Arrested! $250 million for that (expletive)? Get the (expletive) out my face. Robbing people, man. You can't do that."
Simmons has played for the Sixers, Brooklyn Nets and Clippers. He has career averages of 13.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.2 assists but hasn't averaged double-figures since 2020-21, his final campaign with Philadelphia.
The first overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Simmons has made only five 3-pointers in the NBA. The lefty is not a threat to shoot jumpers, even mid-range shots.
Simmons has appeared in 47 games this season with the Nets and Clippers. He's averaging 5.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.9 assists.
Brooklyn and Simmons agreed to a contract buyout and the lefty signed a rest-of-the-season contract with LAC worth $755,826.
O'Neal and Simmons played college basketball at LSU. A Hall of Famer, O'Neal never shies away from bashing current players since he believes he's earned the right to after winning four NBA titles and three Finals MVPs during his stellar career.
