The Indiana Pacers suffered a major blow in Game 6 against the New York Knicks when Jarace Walker went down awkardly, injuring his ankle and being helped to the locker room.

Walker went up to contest a drive from New York Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns, with a slo-motion video of the injury showing him landing awkwardly and turning his ankle. The Pacers forward remained on the court in obvious pain and was helped off the floor and into the locker room.

Walker had given the Pacers some important minutes in the Eastern Conference Finals, playing 13 minutes in Game 5 and scoring six points on 2-of-4 from behind the 3-point arc. He added on rebound, one steal, and one block.

The Pacers had a dire announcement shortly after Walker went to the locker room.

"Injury Update: Jarace Walker (right ankle sprain) is questionable to return," the team shared in a post on X.

But many fans doubted whether Walker could return for Saturday's game -- or whether he could miss significant time to follow.

There could be a break coming for Walker and his teammates, however. If the Pacers were to win in Saturday's game, they advance to face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals. If the Knicks win, the Pacers would travel back to New York for Game 7 at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
