The Los Angeles Lakers are on an impressive run, as the team is currently on an 8-game winning streak, bolstered by elite performances by Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

The dominant duo’s contributions were lauded by rapper Snoop Dogg, who has been a longtime fan of the franchise.

Snoop, during an appearance on the Game Over podcast, said, “All I’m saying is, I like what I’m seeing and what I’m going to say is, 77-15 Lord have mercy. One Five is a dog, I knew he was when we called him AR-15. Now he is stepping all the way into it, now. Go on, nephew.”

Snoop Dogg’s comments come as Luka Doncic is averaging 38.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 7.3 assists over the last 10 games.

Austin Reaves, for his part, has been clocking in 21.5 points, 11.0 assists, and 4.9 rebounds in the same time span, thriving as Doncic’s wingman.

And while much of this run was made in LeBron James’ absence as he was bogged down by injuries, it also contributed to his name being thrown around negatively.

And the talk about the Lakers doing better without James started doing the rounds to such an extent that the King himself stepped in and addressed the murmur.

LeBron James Addresses the Negativity

Speaking about the controversial and demeaning takes that have been circulating, LeBron James claimed that it was just bait for sales and readership.

James, after the Lakers’ 234- 126 win against the Miami Heat, said, “It sells papers a lot easier, and clippings, and podcasts if you say ‘LeBron, the team is better off without him.’ A lot of people will try to like view it. So I get it. They’re absolutely wrong.”

He also addressed how Doncic, Reaves, and he have yet to find the time to form a triumvirate on the court.

“I think for us, it’s always been about time. We haven’t really had a lot of time to actually put in the work on the floor with one another,” the Lakers star said.

He continued, “Obviously, we had a little bit of (time) last year, but Luka was just getting to the team, trying to get comfortable with what we wanted to do. We were all trying to get comfortable with what all three of us wanted to do.”
